{"id":90,"date":"2019-08-07T15:55:24","date_gmt":"2019-08-07T13:55:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/michaelkamp.org\/?page_id=90"},"modified":"2025-05-01T13:01:41","modified_gmt":"2025-05-01T11:01:41","slug":"talks-and-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/michaelkamp.org\/?page_id=90","title":{"rendered":"Talks and Events"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>I was invited to present our work on the theory of deep learning at the <a href=\"https:\/\/tuebingen.ai\/\">T\u00fcbingen AI<\/a> center in the group of <a href=\"https:\/\/coallaoh.github.io\/\">Seong Joon Oh<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tuebingen.mpg.de\/10020\/mpi-fuer-intelligente-systeme\">MPI for Intelligent Systems<\/a>, 2024.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I I was invited to present our work on privacy-preserving federated learning et the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfl.ch\/de\/\">\u00c9cole Polytechnique F\u00e9d\u00e9rale de Lausanne<\/a> in the group of <a href=\"https:\/\/people.epfl.ch\/martin.jaggi\">Martin Jaggi<\/a>, 2023.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I was invited to give a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sfb876.tu-dortmund.de\/summer-school-2022\/lectures\" target=\"_blank\">lecture on Efficient Federated Learning<\/a> at the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/sfb876.tu-dortmund.de\/summer-school-2022\" target=\"_blank\">REAML Summer School 2022.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I was invited as <strong>keynote speaker<\/strong> at the Workshop on Data-Centric Dependability and Security 2022 (<a href=\"http:\/\/dcds.lasige.di.fc.ul.pt\/\">DCDS<\/a>) where I gave a presentation on Secure and Trustworthy Federated Learning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I am <strong>co-chair<\/strong> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/pdfl.iais.fraunhofer.de\/\">Workshop on Parallel, Distributed, and Federated Learning<\/a> (PDFL&#8217;21) at <a href=\"https:\/\/ecmlpkdd2021.net\/\">ECMLPKDD 2021<\/a>&nbsp;(<a href=\"http:\/\/portal.core.edu.au\/conf-ranks\/?search=ecml&amp;by=all&amp;source=CORE2018&amp;sort=atitle&amp;page=1\">A, top 18%<\/a>). We had two fantastic keynotes by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/raobharat\/\">Bharat Rao<\/a> on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mu6egK-ctIY&amp;t=10s&amp;ab_channel=Black-BoxParallelization\">Opportunities and Challenges for Federated Learning in Healthcare<\/a>&#8221; and by <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Blaise_Ag%C3%BCera_y_Arcas\">Blaise Ag\u00fcera y Arcas<\/a> on &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=tPzsOv1DMiA&amp;t=987s&amp;ab_channel=Black-BoxParallelization\">Social AI and Distributed Ethics<\/a>&#8220;.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I am <strong>co-chair<\/strong> of the International <a href=\"http:\/\/mlcs.lasige.di.fc.ul.pt\/\">Workshop on Machine Learning for Cybersecurity<\/a> (MLCS&#8217;21) at <a href=\"https:\/\/ecmlpkdd2021.net\/\">ECMLPKDD 2021<\/a> (<a href=\"http:\/\/portal.core.edu.au\/conf-ranks\/?search=ecml&amp;by=all&amp;source=CORE2018&amp;sort=atitle&amp;page=1\">A, top 16%<\/a>). Note that we have renamed the workshop from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dmle.iais.fraunhofer.de\/\">DMLE<\/a>&nbsp;to PDFL to include a wider range of novel topics.
